Are you ready to taste Provençal flavors? At the designated time, we'll kick off our free food tour of Marseille at the Glacier Bio Le Métropole ice cream, located at the picturesque Vieux-Port.
From here, we'll walk toward the neighborhood of Ópera, where we'll make our first stop at the Boulangerie Aixoise. At this traditional bakery, we'll taste a navette, the most famous biscuit in Marseille. After this stop, we'll continue exploring the district and head to Vanille Noire, a popular store where you can try black vanilla ice cream on your own. It's both delicious and surprising!
We'll continue our food tour of Marseille in the neighborhood of Noailles. Here, you'll find the Pharmacie Herboristerie du Père Blaize, considered one of the oldest herbal shops in France. You'll see its herbs and provençal infusions as you enjoy a tea.
Then, we'll continue exploring Noailles to discover its shops and stands of African and Asian cuisine, where you can enjoy tasting specialties on your own, such as makroud, a traditional Maghrebi dessert. The route around this neighborhood will continue with a visit to Torrefaction Noailles, a store from 1927 where, if you want, you can purchase products like coffee, tea, chocolate, cookies, and other sweets.
Afterward, we'll head to Cours Julien, a famous neighborhood for its murals of street art. We'll admire its graffiti, visit a cheese shop where you can buy different varieties of the Provenza. You'll also discover the vintage shops and cafés, and visit an establishment where you'll see how the traditional soap of Marseille is made.
Finally, we'll conclude this 2-hour free tour in the neighborhood of Cours Julien, where you can continue exploring its most emblematic stores at your own pace.
