Your electric bicycle tour of the south of Gran Canaria, a route of approximately 6 miles (10 km) lasting around four hours, will begin in Avenida de Alemania. From here, you'll explore the area surrounding Playa del Inglés, one of the island's most popular beaches, and the town of Maspalomas itself, in search of the best panoramic views.
Make a stop at the Maspalomas Dunes Viewpoint. This immense expanse of golden sand dunes, a protected natural reserve which will captivate you from the first glimpse. The landscape immediately makes you think of the Sahara Desert!
Continuing with your tour of Gran Canaria's natural side, you'll next visit the Maspalomas Botanical Gardens in Avenida Neckermann, where you'll be amazed at the more than five hundred different species of plants that flourish in this extraordinary park. Spot banana trees, aloe vera, the cactus known locally as "tunera", and more!
You'll then reach the "green lungs" of Maspalomas: Parque Sur, or South Park. Located nearby, you'll find the San Fernando Municipal Market, where you'll take a well-earned break to discover the incredible range of local produce and artisan delicacies for which Gran Canaria is famous.
After visiting the market, you'll pedal on through the San Fernando neighbourhood, where you'll visit a local bar to treat yourself to a tasting of typical tapas or soft drinks. The drinks you can choose between are Coca-Cola, Fanta, Spray, or Nestea. The best fuel to renew your energy for the return ride back to your original departure point!
