Visit Aiken del Sur Park
Meet us in the reception area of Hotel Loberias del Sur in Puerto Chacabuco, and from here, we'll set off heading east for our day trip adventure.
After a brief 15-minute drive, we'll reach Aiken del Sur Park, a prominent ecotourism reserve spanning 250 hectares (617 acres) in the heart of Chilean Patagonia. This location allows us to experience the finest natural wonders the Aysen region offers. Upon entering, we'll stop at the Visitor's Center, where we'll be greeted with a welcome cocktail. We'll sip on our drinks as we listen to a brief introduction to the various routes we can take throughout the park.
You'll have up to 4 different hiking routes through Aiken del Sur Park to choose from. Each route comes with a knowledgeable guide and takes about 1 to 2 hours, the duration varying based on the difficulty of the chosen hike. Additionally, every route provides an opportunity to delve into the diverse flora and fauna in Aysen, offering insights into the significant cultural heritage of the region.
Each route additionally brings you back to the cafeteria on the park grounds, where we'll stop for a traditional Chilean Patagonian lunch made up of a typical lamb roast. Then, we'll move to a folkloric exhibition within the park, showcasing regional dances and songs.
After enjoying the dance show, we'll head back to the meeting point in Puerto Chacabuco, after about 5.5 hours of cultural and natural wonder.
