Puerto Sánchez & Marble Caverns Boat Tour
We'll meet at the time of your choice at the pier of Puerto Sánchez. From there, we'll set sail aboard the Starfish V along the western flank of General Carrera Lake, whose waters are under Chilean sovereignty in its western area and Argentinean in its eastern area.
During the voyage through this corner of the Chilean region of Aysén, we'll see the old boats that were used in the mining era in Puerto Sánchez. These ships are stranded along the coast, but still retain much of their hulls and sets of masts.
We'll continue the boat ride next to the marble caverns of General Carrera Lake, which extend along a 980-meter-long ridge. From the deck of the boat, you can admire and photograph these unique caves, shaped by decades of erosion.
As we sail, we'll learn about the historical and geological past of this region. We'll also try to spot different Patagonian birds that live off the area's natural resources. As we'll see, this is an area of great biodiversity with lots of species such as Andean condors and cormorants.
Finally, we'll conclude this journey of approximately an hour and 20 minutes with the return to the departure dock.
