Located in Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard, in the Pays de la Loire region, Georges Clemenceau's House preserves the legacy of the former French prime minister. His presidency spanned two distinct periods: a first term from 1906 to 1909 and a second from 1917 to 1920.
With your ticket to Georges Clemenceau's House, you'll visit this residence that the prime minister rented in 1919 in Saint-Vincent-sur-Jard. This town is located in the Vendée, the birthplace of the French politician, who also worked as a doctor and journalist.
The most striking feature of the house is its beautiful Impressionist garden. Clemenceau personally selected the flower colors with the help of Claude Monet, one of his close friends. In 2006, thanks to the correspondence that has been preserved between the politician and the painter, the original plantings from that era were restored.
During your tour of the house, you can also visit Clemenceau's office overlooking the Atlantic. The politician left behind a substantial written legacy in which he reviews the main events of his career.
