On this excursion from Tucumán, we'll visit the Jesuit ruins of San José de Lules and the town of Simoca, famous for its Saturday fair, where you'll be able to buy tons of regional products!
At the designated time, we'll depart from your hotel in Tucumán to the city's outskirts. After a short 30-minute drive, we'll arrive at the ruins of San José de Lules, where we'll learn about the legacy of the Society of Jesus.
During the visit to this ancient complex, declared a National Monument, we'll learn about the history of the first Jesuit school in Argentina. We'll also see the place where sugar cane was first cultivated in this area of South America.
After visiting the Jesuit ruins of San José de Lules, we'll go to Simoca. In this Tucumán town, we'll see its famous Saturday fair, where we'll find different kinds of rosquillas, empanadillas, and other regional products. The stalls at the Simoca Fair also offer a wide variety of handicrafts.
Between stalls, we'll observe how the barter system works. As we'll see, a dozen eggs or a piglet serve as currency for exchanging the different products traded.
From the Simoca Fair, we'll finally return to your hotel in Tucumán, where we'll arrive 5 hours after pickup.
