In the heart of downtown St. Augustine is the Medieval Torture Museum, which features a massive collection of torture, execution, and restraint devices. A chilling exhibition!
During your visit to the Medieval Torture Museum, you'll go on a journey back in time to the darkest period of the Middle Ages. The exhibition has more than 100 artifacts used for torture. Have you ever heard of the wheel? What about the bull of Phalaris? Your hair will stand on end when you learn the purpose of each of these instruments thanks to the included audio guide in English.
What's more, these devices are accompanied by realistic wax sculptures representing the victims and the executioners, allowing visitors to better understand the terrible history of executions and torture in medieval times. Undoubtedly, this is a visit that will leave you speechless.

The Medieval Torture Museum is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Please note that these hours are flexible and may be subject to change.
Children under 18
The museum isn't recommended for children. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. However, children under the age of 10 are admitted free of charge, as long as they're accompanied by a dedicated adult (1 adult to 1 child).
