Options
When booking, you can choose between 2 options. Both start at the time indicated at Casa Río Vivo and include hire of all kayaking equipment, a snack and an English-speaking guide. Below, you can see the details of each option:
4 Hour Tour
Are you in the region of Los Ríos and want to go kayaking? The Valdivia River is the perfect place for you. This 5 km (3 mile) route along calm waters is ideal for a relaxing kayaking tour.
We'll be totally surrounded by silence and stunning nature. You can admire the rural landscape of Valdivia and spot some ruins from the 1960 earthquake.
As we paddle, we'll pass wetlands as we delve further into this natural environment. Plus, we'll make a short stop for a snack and to take in this breathtaking scenery.
Afterwards, we'll head back to the meeting point after a total of 4 hours.
8 Hour Tour
If you want to spend longer at one with nature, we recommend this option. We'll follow the same route as above, but in this case, it will be 10 km (6 miles) long as we'll head even deeper into the natural environment.
If weather conditions allow, we'll spot multiple species of native birds on the shore and swimming in the river. Additionally, we'll talk about the confluence of more than 5 rivers in the region. We'll learn that the Valdivia River is incredibly important for several rowing clubs in Chile.
We'll head to the shores to enjoy a snack and, once we've rested a little, be back on the water. Let the journey continue. Now, we'll row back upstream and arrive at the starting point after a total of 8 hours
