Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll depart from the Sihlquai bus station parking lot in the direction of Lucerne. Are you ready to visit one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland? During the journey, we'll learn various interesting facts related to this picturesque town.
Upon arrival in Lucerne, you'll have about 2 hours of free time in Lucerne to have a drink and stroll around the historic city centre at your leisure. A visit to the Kapellbrücke is a must. This footbridge over the River Reuss has the privilege of being the oldest wooden bridge in Europe, dating back to the 14th century!
After exploring the centre of Lucerne on your own, we'll meet up again in the city centre and travel by bus to the nearby town of Stans. Upon arrival in this picturesque village, we'll give you a train ticket to return to Lucerne later in the day. We'll also provide you with a ticket for the CabriO, the world's first open-top cable car.
In less than 30 minutes, this funicular will take you to the top of the Stanserhorn, a spectacular alpine mountain reaching an altitude of 1,898 metres (6,227 feet). At the top of this peak, you'll enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and lakes.
In good time, you can take the CabriO cable car from the top of the Stanserhorn to Stans. In this fairytale village, you'll take the train to Lucerne at the time indicated on your ticket. The bus will be waiting for you in front of the train station to take you back to the meeting point in Zurich, where this 9.5-hour day trip will end.
