Nestled along the picturesque banks of the Loire River, between Amboise and Blois, you'll find the iconic Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle, one of the region's most stunning gems. While its roots trace back to medieval times, this grand fortress reached its peak during the French Renaissance, when it was acquired by Catherine de Medici in 1550.
Once you've got your ticket to Chaumont Castle, you can explore its historical grounds at your own pace. Step into the regal world of Queen Catherine de Medici as you wander through her bedroom, and don't miss the chance to peek into the chambers of Cosimo Ruggeri, the monarch's esteemed astrologer!
As you explore the castle, don't forget to make a pit stop at the Council Chamber, home to the striking Tapestry of the Planets and the Days—a true masterpiece. Also, check out the Staircase of Honor, the chapel, and the Guard Room, positioned strategically within the castle's walls.

From April 22 to November 1, 2026, you can enjoy the Festival International des Jardins. The 2026 edition will transport you to the world of cinema.
Children under 6 don't need a ticket; they can access the castle for free with accrediting identification.
