On this 3-day tour, you'll discover the sights of the Ecuadorian region of Quero and spend two nights in a traditional 'hacienda' estate - the perfect escape for nature lovers!
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel and head to the city of Ambato. Once we arrive, we'll embark on a short tour to discover this charming town, where we'll walk through the streets filled with history and tradition that will surely captivate you. You'll also be able to try the cathedral's famous ice creams.
Then, we'll head to Hacienda Hipolongo Cruz de Mayo. There, you'll be welcomed and then given free time to settle into your room and get ready for the rest of the afternoon's activities.
Afterwards, we'll have a delicious lunch, of course, typical of the region. After lunch, we'll have a look around at the facilities at the hacienda or farm. You'll learn all about how the farm animals live, and what and how products are harvested.
Then, we'll travel to the town of Quero to visit the Quero Central Park and the Diocesan Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora del Monte, which are steeped in history and tradition. We'll then move on to Puñachizac, a little corner of the region of Quero, where we'll find the artisan brewery La Quereñita. The brewery is famous for making beer out of potatoes!
In the evening, back at the hacienda, we'll enjoy a dinner to end the day by the warmth of the campfire while listening to stories of the past.
The next morning we'll have a good breakfast to start our day with plenty of energy. First, we'll set off for the pine forest in the upper part of the hacienda, and from there we'll embark on an exciting hiking route. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife! If we're lucky, we might be able to see moorland animals such as eagles, wolves, rabbits and even wild cattle.
We'll finish the hike back at the hacienda, where a traditional local lunch will be waiting for us. Afterwards, we'll participate in experiential activities that will help us learn about the daily work of the locals and life in the páramo.
We'll end the day with dinner.
On the last day at Hacienda Hipolongo Cruz de Mayo, we'll have a delicious breakfast and leave you with some free time to collect your luggage.
Finally, we'll drop you off at your hotel at approximately 11 am.
